How do we deal with snakes?

Snake control starts with finding out why the snake came: rodents, clutter and hiding places, or openings close to the ground. We seal the entry points, treat the rodents if they are the cause, and clear hiding places from around the property. Incense or a repellent alone is not enough, because the snake will come back as long as it has food and a place to hide.

Signs of a snake

  • Shed snakeskin

A long, see-through skin near a boundary wall, in clutter or on the roof. It means a snake passed through.

  • Wavy tracks in the dust

A winding line in the dust or sand around the garden or on a storeroom floor.

  • Frightened animals

Birds, cats or dogs acting strangely around a certain spot in the garden or storeroom.

  • Lots of rodents

Rats and mice are snake food. If you have rodents and your home is close to farmland, the chances go up.

Why do snakes come to a home?

A snake is not looking for you. It is looking for food like rodents and birds, and for a cool or shady place to hide: clutter, piles of wood and bricks, long grass, exposed pipes. That is why ground floors, homes next to farmland or desert, storerooms and farms are the most exposed.

It gets in through openings close to the ground: under a door, through a drain opening or pipe, or through a crack in a boundary wall. It can also come in with things that were stored in the garden and then moved inside.

Egypt has nonvenomous snakes and venomous ones such as the cobra and the viper. You do not need to try to tell them apart yourself. Treat any snake as dangerous until it is gone from the area.

How the work goes

  1. 1

    A quick call

Tell us where the snake is now and whether there are children around, and take a photo from far away if that is safe. We give you the price and the time.

  2. 2

    Securing the area

The technician deals with the area once it is secured. Nobody in the household goes near the snake or tries to help.

  3. 3

    We find the cause

We look at the openings, rodents and clutter around the house and work out why the snake came.

  4. 4

We seal entries and treat rodents

We seal the openings that can be sealed, treat any rodents, and tell you what needs to be cleared from around the house.

  5. 5

We write it on the receipt

What was done, the name of any product used, and the recommendations to carry out around the house.

If someone is bitten, and what not to do

If someone is bitten by a snake, go to the nearest hospital immediately, even if the pain is mild. Keep them calm, keep the limb still, and take off rings and watches. Do not cut the wound, do not suck out the venom, do not tie on a tight bandage, and do not wait for symptoms to appear.

Do not try to kill the snake or grab it with a stick. Many people get bitten trying that. Kerosene or gasoline poured into openings is a fire risk, and bleach gives off harmful fumes. All of them harm the ground, and there is no guarantee they will drive the snake away.

Safety with children and pets

Children and pets stay away from the area until the technician tells you it is done. For any product placed around the house, we tell you where it is and how long to stay away, and it is written on the receipt.

If you have an animal pen or birds on the property, tell us. They could be the reason the snake came, and they change how we work.

Questions about snakes

There is a snake in front of me right now. What do I do?

Move away, close the door if you can do it without going closer, get children and pets away, and call us. Do not try to catch it or hit it.

I live on a high floor. Can a snake get up here?

It is rare, but it can happen if there is a pipe, a nearby tree or an air shaft. Ground floors and gardens are far more exposed.

Is there a spray that keeps snakes away for good?

No single product can promise that. What makes a difference is sealing openings, treating rodents and cleaning up around the house.

Is the snake venomous?

It is not safe to try to find out yourself. Treat it as venomous, and if it bites someone, go to the hospital immediately.

Do you work at chalets and farms?

Yes. Tell us the location and size, and whether there are crops or animals, so we can give you the right price.

How much does it cost?

It depends on the situation, the size of the place and the number of openings, and you get the price by phone. It is written down before we start, and it does not go up after you agree.
